The machinery of the Lakeland Band programs is complex and uses multiple talents throughout the school year, besides the musical talents of our Director, staff, and students. We have been fortunate that so many have volunteered their talents to assist us, helping to keep our costs down.
We think we have a lot of talent among our parents and friends of the band and have been able to avoid hiring some needed talent because our parents and friends have stepped up. Right now we are desperately in need of
1. drivers with a CDL license
2. someone with advanced red cross instructor training in first aid and CPR
3. A licensed CNA
4. A licensed EMT
5. A wilderness first responder
6. A physician (MD or DO)
7. A licensed PA
8. A licensed RN
9. A licensed LPN
10. A licensed NP
In addition anyone who is a parent and could serve as a chaperone 1 day or more at band camp–your help is also needed. If you are new to the band, don’t be shy, chaperoning is a great way to jump into the gears of the band machine.
Some of these skills are necessary for us to conduct band camp and we will need to hire people if volunteers are not found. If you have any of these skills or you know someone who could help , please have them contact Pam Barckholtz asap. She can be reached at (248) 563-0930 or contact Pam. If someone can help, but cannot commit to the whole week of band camp, we can work with that. I hope to hear from some of you soon!
