Hello band families,

Yesterday’s email distribution for the band boosters was the mother-load of all email distributions.  Almost 1200 emails sent out for 7 different subjects alone, and each one important for you to know about.

What??? You did not receive them? Or maybe just 1 or 2 of them?  If you have a email account through Google (gmail), these and others emails from the boosters (me) more than likely got trapped and sent to the “promotions” folder of your gmail account. Unbeknown to you, unless you regularly check this tab.  The tabs feature is something new in gmail and introduced this past summer. Something like a junk or spam folder, but more intrusive.

The boosters depend on email in getting important messages from Mr. Green out to you as well as updating you on volunteer, fundraising and other band happenings.  We can’t stress how important this is.  I know it must be daunting at times in receiving all these emails and wished we would send out one email with everything combined, but with all the exciting things happening at band, it’s impossible to do so.  On the other hand, not knowing what is happening at band is equally frustrating I’m sure.  Sometimes we load these emails with attachments and links that gmail quite frankly, just does not like.  So by-golly, we going to change this. J

What I would like you to do, for you gm account users, that’s gmail for you home gamers, is to click on the “Promotions” tab, find one of the emails from secretary@localhost, left-click and hold on the email to drag it from the “Promotions” tab over to the “Primary” tab. You will get an alert that “The conversation has been moved…”. Click Yes to assure that all messages with the same from address will appear in the “Primary” tab going forward.  Do the same for the email address [email protected].

Similarly, in some browsers, you can right-click on the email to display a small list of options. Click the Move to tab option and select the tab you want to move the email to. And click on Yes to confirm.

That should do it. All future emails from the boosters should end up in your “Primary” tab.  You are now well on your way of being an informed LHS Band person.<:)

Now go back and read all those important emails you missed. LOL
