Attention all Marching Band Families,
Attached are a few updates and below are some important updates/changes to our schedule I wanted to make everyone aware of.
1. GUARD PRECAMP change:
Guard, due to staff availability and wanting to plan the week carefully for you, you will have a modified schedule on Pre-Camp 1.
You will only be coming in as follows:
Tuesday, August 9 – NO GUARD
Wednesday, August 10 – report will be 5 – 9 pm (just like a sectional night)
This is due to guard staff availability as we finish up summer. Pre-Camp 2 will be exact same as the rest of the band. You will be in for Pre-Camp 2 Monday – Thursday, 2 – 9 pm with everyone else. Thank you for your patience on this. We apologize, but we want to make sure you have a staff member here and your time is valuable.
2. EVERYONE in the Marching Band – Added Item to the calendar.
I have added one item to the calendar I want you all to be aware of, and it is the Thursday night before Labor Day, September 1. We typically avoid Labor Day weekend (Thursday as well) as this is one of the rare holidays where we are not here already doing a parade or event. Thursday, September 1 is a home football game (yes, it is during summer for most of you). The reason I am asking everyone to add this is because it is our game vs. Milford, and I KNOW the school would appreciate having us there! We will NOT be performing our show at halftime (too early to do so) but we will be playing pre-game and throughout the game in the stands. Because we are not doing the show, I do not want Guard/Pit to worry about reporting for this, but we would certainly love to have you as well if you want to come cheer on the team! Woodwinds/Brass/Battery/Drum Majors, please add this to your calendar. 6 pm report, done by 9:30 pm.
THANK YOU all for your understanding. It is important we are there when we can be, and I want to show our support for the football team and school, especially against our cross-town rivals. Anyone who will be out of town, please let me know via email, I know it is a tough weekend to plan for.
Thank you,
Mr. Green
