It’s that time of year again…Parades. I realize everyone has been away from the marching band for some time now, but the commitment remains the same for all of us. We have 2 parade events at the end of the year that you have known about since you joined the marching band. We DEPEND on every member to stick to that commitment and make it to these performances for the community. Please make arrangements now to avoid any conflicts with these events. Please help us out so that we can represent our band program as positively as possible. Below are the dates and the information we have at this time. If you are not in a second semester band class it is your responsibility to stop in to see Mr. Green for music/routine information and updates as we approach each parade date. Thank you for your support and for your dedication to the LHS Marching Band.

Music and Routine for the parades:
The Special Olympics Ceremony will include the Fight Song (letter A to end/no Fanfare) for the music. The Memorial Day Parade music is the Salute to Freedom and we also play the Star Spangled Banner at Central Park for the ceremony following the parade. The music will be distributed on Friday, April 24 and available for pick up at that time for anyone not in a 2nd semester class. I will have available all 3 songs. Color Guard, you will learn the routine (it will be very quick) from Angelica or Alex for the Fight Song the week of April 27 at any point before Friday. Come down to see Mr. Green if you cannot connect with them.  PIT, you are all expected to be here as well!!!

Picking up uniforms for the parades:
You can pick up your full uniform NOW in the band room after school from the uniform room. If you want to leave it here for this event that is fine, but MAKE SURE IT FITS AND IT IS ALL THERE!!! Guard – Angelica will contact you all regarding your uniform plan. You will need your full LHS Uniform. It is your responsibility to make sure you have all parts, including shoes/shakos/gloves. If you need any size adjustments, you need to contact Mrs. Zammit by Tuesday, April 28th at the latest. Do not wait until the day before the Special Olympics Ceremony. If you never brought it in after the Holiday parades, make sure it is neat and ready to go and ALL parts are there.
